OUR PHILOSOPHY

At The Meredith Project, we believe great design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about heart, storytelling, and the way a space makes you feel. Whether it’s bold and modern, layered and eclectic, or timeless and understated, our approach is always rooted in creating a home that is uniquely yours.

We understand that transforming your space is more than just a 'project'—it’s an investment in the way you live, feel, and move through your daily life. The spaces we inhabit shape our routines, influence our emotions, and impact our sense of well-being. A home is not just a backdrop; it’s an active participant in your story, evolving with you over time. That’s why we approach every project with deep intentionality, ensuring that every dollar spent is purposeful and that every decision contributes to a home that is not only beautifully crafted but also deeply considered—designed to enhance the way you experience comfort, connection, and joy in your everyday life.

From value engineering to expert renovation guidance, we’re with you at every stage, merging technical construction expertise with a passion for refined design. Whether it’s optimizing layouts for effortless flow, sourcing materials and furnishings with lasting integrity, or curating distinctive, meaningful details, we create environments that feel effortlessly collected, lived-in, and entirely yours.

A defining element of our design process is tapping into the vitality of Santa Barbara and its natural beauty. We draw inspiration from the landscape, the architecture, and the timeless elegance of the region—after all, it is called the American Riviera. Every member of our team has chosen to call Santa Barbara home—a reflection of our shared appreciation for its heritage and rich character. We thrive here, and we bring that same passion and energy to every project we take on.

But more than anything, we believe design should bring joy. From the big-picture vision to the smallest, most thoughtful details, we want the entire experience to feel just as exciting and fulfilling as the finished space. Our process is collaborative, immersive, and, above all, rooted in care—care for your home, your happiness, and your vision.

At The Meredith Project, we don’t just design spaces; we tell stories—stories that are timeless, vibrant, and deeply personal. And we feel incredibly lucky to be able to do that here, for you.

Our Team

Meredith Still

FOUNDER, PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Meredith Still, founder of The Meredith Project, brings over a decade of experience in design and construction, seamlessly blending creativity with technical expertise. Raised just outside historic Philadelphia, she developed an early appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless design. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Amherst College, she began her career in finance on Wall Street before following her passion for design, eventually launching her own general contracting company in NYC.

Meredith is a designer with a rare depth of construction knowledge. Her unique combination of analytical thinking, hands-on expertise, and deep understanding of how people live allows her to transform bold creative visions into beautifully executed spaces.

Since relocating to Santa Barbara from NYC in 2021, Meredith has brought her signature blend of sophistication, warmth, and individuality to every project. Her refined yet approachable style resonates deeply with clients, creating spaces that feel elevated, personal, and timeless.
Whether she’s designing or off the clock, Meredith is usually in a t-shirt and Chucks or enjoying specialty coffee with her partner, Brent—both proud coffee enthusiasts. She’s also completely devoted to Frank, her miniature dachshund, who may or may not be the real boss of The Meredith Project.

Kari Ivanitsky

LEAD DESIGNER
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Kari Ivanitsky cultivated an early appreciation for the natural world and its influence on design. This connection inspires her to craft spaces that are both harmonious and deeply personal, reflecting the unique stories of her clients.

With a background shaped by formal training, hands-on practice, and a love of artistic exploration, Kari brings a refined eye and innovative approach to every project. She balances timeless design with practical solutions, creating interiors that feel effortlessly beautiful and thoughtfully functional. Kari’s collaborative and client-centered process ensures each space is as unique as the people who live in it, resulting in designs that inspire, nurture, and stand the test of time.

In her downtime, she loves exploring the Santa Barbara area with her husband and their three-year-old daughter.

Hayley M. Slye, Allied ASID

SENIOR DESIGNER
California native Hayley Slye brings years of experience in the industry to her Senior Designer role at The Meredith Project.

The daughter of an architectural draftsman, her interest in beautiful rooms began early. She saw how good design can improve one's quality of life, and began developing an eye for deeply personal, unique interiors that play with convention. This lifelong interest led her to leave a career in sports media to go to design school, eventually becoming a certified interior designer through the excellent Saddleback College design program.

Post-college, Hayley worked at notable residential design firms in Orange County, San Antonio and Santa Barbara, as well as in retail homewares. Through these experiences, she has taken her inherent eye for style and channeled it into a career she is truly passionate about. Hayley's natural design ability pairs beautifully with her organizational and drafting skills, which help give TMP clients an elevated, top-quality experience throughout the design process.

Outside of work, Hayley enjoys spending time with her Chihuahuas, Cash and Angus.
